Artist's Description
My last shot of the Milky Way while on Wassaw Island with the Caretta Research Group.
The time was 4:09 am Saturday morning. We began patrolling the Wassaw shore at 9:30 pm -Friday.
The wind velocity was 1-2 miles mph and the gnat factor was at 99%.
I grabbed my tripod without extending it to get a low angle shot. The location was the "Gate", so named because two downed trees lay 180 degrees from each other with the roots facing with just enough space to drive the Mule through the opening.

Although it is sometimes a distraction to the naked eye, the subject can draw the viewer of a photograph to into a multi-dimension so it makes them feel as if they are inside the photo.
